Apr. 14th, 2009 04:59 pmThe first time I started a journal, the entry was not much more than a abysmal note about watering my bamboo plant. That plant has long since been the victim of my black thumb, but I have a newer bamboo plant that's alive and kicking. For Easter, I also got an orchid. I have wanted an orchid for years and years but couldn't justify paying $15 or more for a flower that I'd probably kill in a week. Now that I have one, I'm suddenly more interested in watering the plants, and it's dry enough that they both get to come with me when I have a shower.
And here I was going to upload an image file of Bert and Tillie from my computer, but I see that this functionality isn't working yet. That's okay. I'm planning to insert some mutant DNA so we can have conversations soon, and maybe I'll link to an audio file of Bert's haiku about the moon or Tillie's advice column once the plants are sentient.
